HOMEWORK
Homework serves to reinforce and strengthen skills previously taught in class. It provides a wonderful opportunity to spend some "one on one" time with your child and provides valuable insight as to their progress. It affords them a chance to "shine" and show you what they are learning. Homework is sent home weekly. Language Arts will be sent home on Monday and is due on Friday. Math homework will come home most days and is due the following day. The most important component in our homework is reading. Additional homework activities vary and may include math, phonics, writing, sight words, or handwriting.
HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS
Homework is to be returned complete, signed and turned in on Friday. Remember, homework is a review of concepts already taught in class, and even if it appears "easy" its purpose is to serve as reinforcement. It is expected that homework will be corrected by the parents/guardians and any errors will be reviewed and corrected. This provides immediate feedback to the child and reinforces the learning process. Please sign your child’s homework so that I know you have corrected it. It should be checked for neatness, accuracy and completeness.
